Domain name register Go Daddy in buy-out talks – Rumour

Mon Jun 27 2011, 14:39 PM

Domain name registry giant Go Daddy is reportedly close to agreeing a sale that would value the company at between USD2bn and USD2.5bn. The deal is being led by private equity group Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and tech investor Silver Lake, with the likes of Technology Crossover Ventures also participating. Go Daddy is the world's biggest registrar of internet domain names by volume, but the buy-out groups see an opportunity for targeting larger businesses and further global expansion.
