Facebook is acquiring feature phone app developer Snaptu in an effort to boost its mobile offerings and expand into less developed mobile markets. The deal, which is expected to close in the next few weeks, will see Israel-based Snaptu work on richer and more advanced Facebook apps for feature phones. Israeli reports are valuing the deal at between USD40m and USD70m, though neither company is disclosing deal details.
