RIM buys Viigo to encourage BlackBerry app development

BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion (RIM) is acquiring mobile software developer Viigo to help improve the BlackBerry platform. Viigo's current content platform makes it easier for publishers and content companies to develop apps for BlackBerrys. Viigo also provides an app that allows users to find information such as weather reports, stock quotes, sports information, podcasts and news headlines.
