App developers must spend up to USD1,875 a day on ad campaigns to buy their way into the top 100 apps in popular Apple App Store categories, according to a report from AdWhirl. To get into the top 100 in a popular category, the findings suggest that developers need about 2,500 daily downloads. With estimates of untargeted ad impression conversions at around 0.2%, developers would need 1.25m ad impressions to achieve enough downloads to achieve the top 100.
