LinkedIn appoints Yahoo! exec as CEO

LinkedIn is appointing former Yahoo! EVP Jeff Weiner as its new CEO. Weiner will take the reins at the professional social network having already spent a six month spell as its interim president. Co-founder and current CEO Reid Hoffman will become executive chairman of the company. He will continue to play an active role in LinkedIn's affairs in his new role and as its largest individual shareholder.
