Nokia to ditch DRM – Rumour

Nokia is reportedly planning to ditch digital rights management (DRM) restrictions from all the MP3s it sells this year and do the same thing with tracks on its unlimited mobile download scheme Comes With Music in 2010. The firm would be the latest in a series of digital music distributors to abandon DRM. Apple finally got rid of DRM protection on all music sold on iTunes at the beginning of this year, sparking speculation that the rest of the industry would soon follow suit.
