Private equity firm Terra Firma is writing off half the value of its GBP2.3bn (USD3.3bn) investment in UK record label EMI, which it bought in 2007. The decision accounts for nearly all of a EUR1.37bn (USD1.72bn) impairment charge included in Terra Firma’s annual review. In total, the investor says its portfolio declined 42% in value from EUR7.8bn (USD9.8bn) to EUR4.5bn (USD5.6bn) last year.
