Amazon Web Services (AWS) is set to add content delivery networks (CDN) to its other established enterprise services. The online retailer said its new CDN service will be available later this year and will use its points of presence in North America, Europe and Asia. AWS is entering an already competitive market. According to Dow Jones Venture Source, investors poured nearly USD980m into content delivery services companies between 2005 and the second quarter this year. However, Amazon is introducing new pricing and marketing strategies that it believes will give it an advantage.
