In the battle of the two social networking giants, Facebook has pulled ahead of MySpace by attracting more then 123m unique visitors in May, according to comScore. MySpace only managed to grab 114.6m visitors during the month, a lowly 5% increase compared to Mar 2006. Facebook, by contrast, has managed to increase visitor numbers by 162% during the past 12 months. However, counting the number of unique visitors is only one way measuring the popularity of a site and MySpace claims to have more 110m users compared to Facebook's 80m. MySpace is also particularly popular in the US, accounting for 41.28% of all US visits to social networking sites and forums in Apr.
