MySpace to share data with Yahoo!, eBay, Twitter and more

Fri May 9 2008, 12:10 PM

MySpace is partnering with sites including Yahoo!, eBay, Twitter and Photobucket to share its data across the different networks. The 'data availability' initiative is the social network's first step in supporting full data portability, which uses open source standards to allow free sharing and use of different data and applications across the web. The move comes as MySpace is joining the Data Portability Group, a body which is working on projects designed to let users transfer data from one social network to another. Members include Microsoft, Facebook, Digg, Google, Plaxo and LinkedIn.
