Microsoft will integrate airfare search engine Farecast in its MSN travel service after acquiring the Seattle-based startup for an undisclosed sum. The Seattle Post Intelligencer, citing an insider source, estimates the deal at USD115m. The news follows earlier rumours that Farecast was sold for USD75m, with Expedia tipped as a likely buyer. "Farecast has been a partner of ours on MSN Travel and we look forward to working closely with the Farecast team to incorporate and apply its technology," says Microsoft PR director Whitney Burk.
