Yandex is the most popular search engine in Russia, one of the few European countries where Google does not dominate the market. Yandex accounted for 47.4% of web searches in Feb, when Google was a distant second with 31.2% of the enquiries, says comScore. Rambler, the country's oldest portal, came third with a 9.7% market share, followed by Mail.ru, a portal partly-owned by South Africa's Naspers, with 7% of the enquiries. In comparison, Yahoo! accounted for 3.1% of the searches, AOL for 1.1%, and Microsoft for 0.6%.
