Fri Apr 11 2008, 08:52 AM

The dual mode cellularWi-Fi market generated USD26.8bn globally last year and will nearly triple by 2011, says Infonetics Research. The global fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) equipment market - including network controllers and multi-access convergence gateways - grew nearly five-fold from 2006 to 2007 and is forecast to grow another ten-fold between 2007 and 2011. Infonetics says the growth is primarily driven by large-scale FMC deployments, such as those by T-Mobile in the US and by Orange in Europe.
