Thu Feb 14 2008, 08:51 AM

Plaxo is yet again the subject of takeover rumours, with the latest report on Valleywag saying that Comcast has acquired the online address book firm, for USD175m in cash. There is no confirmation of the takeover and last week, Valleywag claimed that Google had bought Plaxo. However, TechCrunch also reports rumours that Plaxo has been bought by a cable player, for just under USD200m. This is the first time that Comcast is rumoured to have bought Plaxo, with past speculation focusing on online companies such as Google and Facebook as potential buyers. The New York Times reported last month that Plaxo had hired investment bank Revolution Partners to handle a forthcoming deal.
