Paramount Digital is signing up with Hungama Mobile to distribute wireless and interactive content in India, in a bid to tap the country's wireless games market. The deal, for an undisclosed amount, will allow Hungama to provide Paramount-branded services such as games, logos, polyphonic ring-tones, animated wallpaper screens, video clips. Paramount claims the new deal will reach more than 200m Indian customers. "With extraordinary growth and more new mobile subscribers than in any other country, India presents a great opportunity for our rapidly expanding global business," says VP of Paramount Digital's Asia Pacific division, Pradeep Mittur. In Jan 2007 an Indian research firm found that the rapidly growing mobile market may generate 300m subscribers by Apr 2009. The mobile gaming industry in India is reportedly worth around USD22.75m per annum. Mumbai-based Hungama Mobile supplies messaging services to a number of sectors including: airlines, freight, hotels, and media houses. It also offers customised operator logos, ringtones, wallpapers and games and partners with the Radiate Group, a network of promotions marketing agencies across 60 countries.
