Zillow, the online house comparison website founded by former Expedia execs, has signed a deal with the publishers of 282 newspapers to carry their real estate adverts. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, but the agreement is similar to Yahoo!'s ad alliance struck with 20 newspaper publishers and covers 11 publishers, including Hearst, EW Scripps, MediaNews Group, Lee Enterprises and Media General. Newspapers include the San Francisco Chronicle and The Tampa Tribune. Zillow says it hopes to include more publishers into the deal, which will start from early next year. Under the deal, local advertisers who place print and online listings with the publications will also be able to display them on Zillow, which claims to receive 4.4m visitors a month. The publishers will also be able to use Zillow's platform on their own sites. Zillow, which has received USD87m from investors including Legg Mason and Benchmark Capital, offers estimates on housing markets with some 70m US homes listed on its database.
